Should Georgetown Lobby the Texas Legislature?

If you have thoughts/opinions on the propriety of Georgetown lobbying the state legislature during the next session, attend the workshop next Tuesday, November 8 at 3pm in the council chambers.

Here is the agenda item:

Discussion and direction regarding a review and future adoption of a legislative agenda for the City of Georgetown during the 85th Legislative Session -- Jack Daly, Assistant to the City Manager and David Morgan, City Manager

People who believe in limited government would argue that lobbying is not a proper function of city government. It is the people's right and responsibility to lobby their state legislators to reflect their interests. Not the responsibility of city government!
