Sales Tax Revenues at Record High

The Texas State Comptroller reported the lastest distribution of sales taxes to Georgetown. $2.065 Million was distributed to Georgetown in November.

The City operates on a fiscal year basis that runs from October 1 to September 30. On that basis, the City collected $21,846,638.55 in FY2016. The City budgeted for sales tax revenue in FY2016 of $21,530,000.

The revenue collected exceeded the budget amount by $316,000. Inquiring minds want to know how this windfall has been spent. Will the City publically share with its citizens where the excess money has gone? Ask your city representative to have the share that information with its citizens!
