The new Austin downtown MetroRail station will take two years longer to complete than Capital Metro said just a few months ago, and cost about 80 percent more than the original $22 million estimate.
The new station, originally estimated to cost $22 million, is now $39.4 million and slated to open in 2021.
Remember this kind of cost and schedule under-estimation whenever the cost and schedule estimates are revealed for local projects.
