The Texas Senate passed today, Senate Bill 2, the Property Tax Reform and Relief Act of 2017. The bill will reduce the rollback tax rate and require automatic elections if property taxes grow beyond the threshold.
Property tax reforms passed today by the Texas Senate will empower taxpayers and require a greater level of accountability from our local governments. These are the kind of reforms desperately needed to help fix a badly broken system.
Let your State Representative, Terry Wilson, know that you support this legislation and ask him to do everything he can to get the House to vote and pass the bill. It is time that local governments become more accountable to the people who pay the taxes.
