Georgetown Airport Noise Footprint

The noise footprint of the Georgetown Airport is easily seen in the following chart. Noise Footprint

The noise contours show the  A-weighted noise levels that represent the approximate average noise energy due to transportation noise sources over the 24 hour period at the defined locations. Since these contours represent average noise levels over 24 hours, it is apparent that peak noise levels are significantly higher. These peak noise levels as a function of aircraft type and time of day need to be established for future reference.

It seems appropriate that the city conduct a baseline noise survey in the areas indicated on the chart so that as airport operations are increased over time, a solid baseline of noise exposure will have been established.
