Keep in mind these numbers represent the direct salaries and do not include any perks such as district contributions to health care, life insurance, retirement, cell phones, vehicles, etc.
It has been my thought that that high cost of administration means less dollars for the classroom. Why should teachers have to buy classroom materials? Why should we have to contribute (HEB?) to this cost. Two factors: Unions, and government meddling. Just to name a few examples.
